Adding Value to People.

I really believe one of the main reasons I’m here is to add value to people. At the end of the day, the greatest value I can give anyone is Jesus. He’s the one who’s changed my life, and He’s the only one who can truly change someone else’s.

The greatest example of someone valuing people is Jesus Himself. He didn’t just say it—He showed it. He laid down His life so others could live. That’s the ultimate act of adding value.

You Can’t Give What You Haven’t Received

The truth is, you can’t add value to others unless you’ve received value from Jesus first. We can’t give what we haven’t got. But when your life has been touched and transformed by the grace of God—when you really know what it means to be forgiven and loved—then you can start living in a way that points others to Him.

Why Add Value?

Because people need it.

Because we’re surrounded by folks who are overwhelmed, anxious, stressed out, and just trying to keep their head above water. And the truth is, when someone gets connected to Jesus, they’ll find less stress, more peace, more hope, more clarity—everything we’re all looking for.

That’s the goal in adding value. It’s not about me feeling good about myself or getting recognition—it’s about helping people get one step closer to Jesus.

It’s Just Loving Your Neighbor

Adding value to others is simply doing what Jesus told us to do—love your neighbor as yourself. It’s not about being impressive. It’s about being intentional.

It’s also about remembering that this isn’t about us. It’s about Jesus. If we’re doing it in our own strength, it becomes self-help. But if we’re walking with the Holy Spirit, it becomes a way for God to work through us.

Start at Home

The most important place to start adding value? Yourself. Your marriage. Your kids.

If we’re not being faithful there, we’re missing it. Ministry starts at home.

In Ministry

Whether it’s preaching, teaching, serving, or just talking with someone—everything we do should point people to Jesus. Not just to feel better, but to be changed by His presence.

Preaching should encourage, convict, and equip—bringing people face to face with Jesus.

Conversations should leave people feeling seen and loved.

Service should reflect the grace we’ve received.

Bottom Line

Why do I want to add value to people?

Because Jesus did.

Because I’ve received it.

Because people matter.

And because the best thing I could ever offer anyone is Him.
